January 15th is not just MLK Day...

When most people think of Jan 15th they think..."Martin Luther King's birthday".  Not me.  Jan 15th is the most important day of my life so far.  Jan 15th, 1996 that is.  That day changed the rest of my life.  I was 16 years old and giving birth to my son.  When I first saw him I thought to myself "what in the world am I going to do with him", now 15 years later I look at him and think "what in the world would I do without him".

I swear the last 15 years has flown by.  It seems like yesterday that he was a baby and now my son, Patrick is a freshman in High School.  I love that kid more than anything on this earth (notice I said on this earth, no one comes before my savior but Patrick is running a close second :)    I am so blessed to have him my life.  So Happy Birthday Patrick!  I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow!!!!  We have grown up together and have such a close bond.  You have made me want to be more for you.  You have shown me that there is a such thing as unconditional love.  I am so proud to be your mom.  You are my greatest achievement thus far.  You are growing up to be such a humble young man and I pray that you never change.  Be yourself, never settle, and remember you are loved!

The Beginning

So I was inspired by a friends site (Erica) to start a blog!  I have never been one to hold my tongue and I usually have some pretty good stuff to say.

My first blog is entitled THE BEGINNING...why you might ask...because it is the beginning.  I can't say every entry will be informative, but they are my thoughts and will most likely be entertaining.

I always thought about blogging but never really had the time.  I am sitting in my hotel room in CA right now with nothing to do, my body is confused because my time is all jacked up (I'm on pacific but my body is thinking eastern)...so I figured what the heck, lets blog.

So here is a little about myself.  I am a full time employee, mother, wife, aunt, daughter, sister and friend (to a very select few).  I enjoy spending time with the people I care about.  I love the Lord.  I enjoy going to church and I have an awesome Small Group that keeps me focused.

I have a lot going on ALL THE TIME!  My mom tells me I need to slow down, but I don't have time for all of that.  I have so much I want to accomplish and tomorrow is not promised.

My hope for this blog is that my encounters, past experiences and thoughts can help someone in someway!  Stay tuned....
